No. They haven’t helped. But Britain’s housing crisis has been caused by one fundamental fact; we basically had housing fixed in the 1960s so, as there wasn’t a problem we stopped building houses, sold the council houses in the 80s, and still had a growing population. Over 50 years later a problem we’d fixed is once more a huge problem.
